Inter Milan's Fredy Guarin set to leave for China - sporting director

Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin is set to sign for Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, according to the club's sporting director Piero Ausilio.

Guarin, 29, was left out of the squad on Tuesday's 2-0 win against Napoli, which fed the rumours of his departure. And Ausilio revealed that the Colombia international could depart for China, with reports suggesting that he could cost as much as €18 million.

"He's still an Inter player," Ausilio told Rai Sport. "There's no point hiding, we are in negotiations, but until the documents are signed we cannot talk about a done deal. We'll see where all these negotiations take us."

"If Guarin did leave, he'd be replaced in the squad, but we'll make those evaluations later on."

Inter boss Roberto Mancini has been told to sell players before he can buy, but if a deal is made between the two teams for Guardin, Inter would have the disposable income to buy Sampdoria pair Roberto Soriano and Eder.

However, Ausilio has not yet confirmed who would replace the 29-year-old and added: "It makes sense to link good players to Inter but that doesn't mean they're the right ones.

"We're weighing up a few options with the coach but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a midfielder. I've not ruled out other names, we're keeping an eye on everything. We definitely can't sign a non-EU player."
