Real Betis sign striker Antonio Sanabria from Roma

Antonio Sanabria has left Roma to join Real Betis on a five-year deal, the teams announced on Friday.

The 20-year-old's agent had held talks with Tottenham last month, but the striker will instead stay in Spain, where he spent last season on loan with Sporting Gijon.

Roma revealed the transfer fee was €7.5 million, with the Italian club also entitled to 50 percent of any deal should Betis sell the Paraguay international by 2021.

A buy-back clause was also included that will allow Roma to reclaim Sanabria for €11m during the first two seasons or €14.5m in the third.

Sanabria scored 11 goals in La Liga for Gijon last season after making just two appearances for Roma the year before.

After joining Barcelona as a 13-year-old, Sanabria moved to Sassuolo in 2014 before moving onto Roma a few months later.
