Caen's general manager Xavier Gravelaine has said that Andy Delort could join Tigres for €10 million but believes that the striker is not helping himself by trying to force through a transfer.
Delort, 24, is wanted by Tigres after scoring 12 goals in Ligue 1 last season and he has not returned to training at Caen in the hope of sealing a move to Mexico.
Gravelaine told L'Equipe that Tigres had not made a new bid for Delort since he revealed their interest in the player last month.
He maintains that the only offer Tigres have made is "very far" from Caen's valuation of the player but confirmed that Delort would be allowed to leave if a club offers €10 million.
"Yes," Gravelaine told L'Equipe. "But there are no longer any discussions with Tigres and we're not obliged to sell to balance the budget.
"This situation does not therefore pose us a problem. It's him that will suffer from it."
While Gravelaine said there would be a way back for Delort at Caen, he also criticised the attitude of the former Wigan forward.
"We warned him but he's taken the wrong road... it's surprising," he said.
"He's in the process of doing himself in. He needs to come back to a certain reality."
Last weekend Tigres president Alejandro Rodriguez told Televisa that he was still keen on seeing Delort joining fellow French striker Andre-Pierre Gignac at the Liga MX club.
"There hasn't been any progress -- the situation is still the same as a month and a half ago," Rodriguez said.
"He wants to come here and we want to him to come here. If the conditions can all be met it will be done."
