Hatem Ben Arfa going nowhere despite English interest - Nice president

Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere says he is confident of holding on to Hatem Ben Arfa this winter despite interest from several English clubs.

Ben Arfa, 28, spent the second half of last season without a team but his remarkable return to form has already resulted in the former Newcastle attacker earning a recall to the French national squad.

In 16 matches in Ligue 1 this campaign, Ben Arfa has scored seven goals and made two more for his new club.

The former Lyon and Marseille player is out of contract at the end of this season and L'Equipe reports that Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund have been watching his performances closely.

According to Rivere, English clubs are also keeping tabs on the man who had a spell on loan at Hull City last season.

"He's a very appealing player," Rivere told French TV programme "Canal Football Club."

"He's enjoying himself at Nice. English clubs have been in for him for the January transfer window but what I can tell you is that he wants to stay with us and we'll keep him."

Rivere added that Nice were "very happy" to have Ben Arfa and that the player is a man of his word.
