Lee Nguyen could make his first U.S. national team appearance in seven years, and DaMarcus Beasley is back for the first time since this year's World Cup.
U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann named his squad for upcoming friendlies vs. Colombia and Ireland, leaving off Seattle's Clint Dempsey and Toronto's Michael Bradley but including 10 players from Major League Soccer squads.
The MLS-based players in Monday's announcement are DaMarcus Beasley, Kyle Beckerman, Matt Besler, Bill Hamid, Sean Johnson, Jermaine Jones, Nguyen, Nick Rimando, Chris Wondolowski and DeAndre Yedlin.
They were among 25 players selected on Monday for exhibition games against Colombia in London on Friday and against Ireland in Dublin four days later.
Nguyen, a 28-year-old midfielder, was fourth in the MLS with 18 strikes for New England, the most among Americans this season.
He made his national team debut in a 2007 exhibition against China and played twice in that year's Copa America.
Beasley, the Americans' starting left back, returned to MLS after the World Cup to join Houston.
Two forwards on the roster could make their national team debuts: Rubio Rubin and Jordan Morris.
Bradley had foot surgery last month.
New England Revolution teammates Jones and Nguyen advanced to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2007, and Yedlin's Seattle Sounders FC face FC Dallas in the second leg of their series on Monday night with the hope of advancing to the Western Conference finals.
Klinsmann took a mix of young players and veterans, including 16 players from the 2014 World Cup squad. The squad includes 12 players under age 24 and with 10 caps or fewer.
"We want to finish 2014 on a high note and continue to try to meet the top teams eye to eye," Klinsmann said. "In these last two games we want our veterans to really become mentors both on and off the field, and we want to see our youngsters take advantage of the opportunity to make their case and grow from the experience. These performances will set the tone for 2015."
The U.S. takes on No. 3-ranked Colombia on Friday at 2:45 p.m. ET in London at Craven Cottage with more than 20,000 tickets already sold. On Nov. 18, the U.S. team will play Ireland for the first time since 2002 at Dublin's Aviva Stadium, beginning at 2:45 p.m. ET.
FC Dallas forward Tesho Akindele was not included on the U.S. squad despite multiple reports from credible sources.
