Malaga striker Roque Santa Cruz is set to complete a move to Mexican side Cruz Azul.
The Paraguay international arrived in Mexico early on Tuesday morning and is expected to sign a two-year contract with the club.
The 33-year-old joined Malaga, initially on loan, from Manchester City in 2012 but is now set to leave Europe 15 years after his arrival at Bayern Munich.
The EFE news agency quoted Santa Cruz as telling Mexican media that the "negotiation is well advanced" and that his presence suggests he has "the desire to complete the move."
"I'm very happy to be able to finish what I started as there is a high level of understanding between both parties and I don't envisage any problems," he said.
He added that "there are plenty of people who believe" he is "playing as well as ever," and he feels "comfortable and happy."
