Basel have sold two key midfielders to German clubs two weeks before they resume their Champions League campaign.
The Swiss club, who qualified for the round of 16 at Liverpool's expense, take on Porto later this month.
They announced that Ivory Coast midfielder Geoffroy Serey Die had joined Stuttgart, while Chilean Marcelo Diaz had moved to Hamburg, but did not reveal the fees involved.
The Swiss champions, announcing the moves on their official website, thanked both players and wished them well for the future.
