John Carew's latest movie role is Igor the gangster

After a somewhat nomadic football career that took in stints of varying lengths at the likes of Valencia, Roma, Besiktas, Lyon, Aston Villa and Stoke, John Carew finally called time on his playing days in 2013 following a fairly nondescript final 2011-12 season at West Ham.

Since then the big target man striker has muscled in on the acting scene, landing his first role in 2014 playing "Robert" in Canadian zombie horror "Dead of Winter."

However, Carew is now returning to the big screen with a much bigger part in "Høvdinger," a gritty Norwegian gangster thriller in which he plays Igor the gun-toting henchman.

In case you were wondering, "Høvdinger" translates into English as "Chiefs."

Indeed, Carew's acting chops are on show in the official trailer, with the movie set to hit theatres in June...
