Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, Jose Enrique Liverpool futures unclear

LIVERPOOL -- Liverpool are no closer to finding clubs to take on Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique as the transfer window approaches its final week.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has told all three players that they have no first-team future at Anfield.

Italian strikers Balotelli and Borini, along with Spanish left-back Enrique, were left out of all of the club's preseason games, and have been made to train away from the first team.

"There's nothing to add on players going out," Rodgers told a news conference.

Rodgers is focusing on trying to ship out fringe players before the transfer window shuts on Sept. 1, having declared that he is happy with the summer signings he has made.

He said: "I'm happy with the players we've got in, so there's nothing really on players coming in."

Rodgers does have the option to leave all three players out of the 25-man squad he must submit to the Premier League once the transfer window shuts.

The Liverpool boss currently has 24 senior players -- defined as squad members born before Jan. 1, 1994.

Managers are not obliged to include senior players in their squad even if they have space.

But if they do make any omissions, a club cannot then fill the remaining spaces by signing out-of-contract players after the window closes.

Rodgers, meanwhile, has indicated that he plans to keep young midfielder Jordan Rossiter part of his squad.

The 18-year-old scored on his senior debut against Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup last season, but has not featured for the first team since.

Rodgers, though, has no plans to send him out on loan to gain experience.

He said: "I'm sure one or two will probably go out but we've got the Europa League and cup games to think about. Jordan Rossiter has moved up to the first team, he's got great maturity. I see him as one who will be staying here."
