Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.
Here are today's top five emerging whispers.
Ever Banega to Everton
Various news outlets are reporting that Inter Milan are willing to let Ever Banega leave in January even though the player only joined the Serie A side in the summer. Banega arrived at the San Siro on a free transfer and new Inter Milan boss Stefano Pioli is prepared to part ways with the player for as little as £8 million. Everton boss Ronald Koeman wants to inject some new life in the midfield and feels Banega could do just that.
Robbie Brady to Aston Villa
The Sun is reporting that Aston Villa are interested in versatile Norwich City man Robbie Brady. The report claims that the Villans have put together a package that would make him one of the highest earners in the Championship in attempt to lure him from their rivals. Villa boss Bruce managed Brady when the pair were at Hull City and they reportedly have a mutual respect for one another -- meaning the Republic of Ireland international wouldn't be averse to the move.
Lamine Kone to West Ham United
According to The Sun, West Ham are keen on signing Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone and are prepared to meet the players £18m release clause so as to get the deal done as quickly as possible. The player almost joined Everton in the summer but Sunderland held firm. However, the player has since signed a new deal with a release clause in it meaning any future move would be much simpler. Hammers boss Slaven Bilic feels Kone could be what's needed for his side to make their way up the table.
Yacine Brahimi to Arsenal
Sportskeeda claims that both Manchester United and Arsenal are trailing Porto attacker Yacine Brahimi. The player has a deal keeping him at Porto until 2019, and is said to have a £50.5m release clause. The Portuguese giants reportedly rejected a £34m bid from Everton for the player on deadline day. Could this be Arsenal planning for life without Mesut Ozil?
Edinson Cavani to Man United
The Daily Express is linking PSG forward Edinson Cavani with a move to Manchester United. PSG have reportedly offered the Uruguayan a new contract but Cavani and his representatives are stalling on signing whilst weighing up their potential options. United want a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and see Cavani as the man to fill those big boots having done the same at PSG.
