Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler to hold Leicester transfer talks

Hannover have confirmed that goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler will hold talks with Premier League champions Leicester City over a potential summer transfer.

Last month, Germany international Zieler said he would leave Hannover in the summer after they were relegated from the Bundesliga.

He joined the club from Manchester United's reserves in 2010 and has a €3.5 million release clause in his contract.

Announcing that Zieler had opted to hold talks with the Foxes, managing director Martin Bader told the club's official website: "We have always been aware that Ron would want to play in a top division with his outstanding qualities.

"Should the negotiations prove positive for him, we wish him all the best. Ron will always be welcome back at Hannover."

In April, Zieler announced his decision to leave on his Facebook page and wrote: "Everyone who knows me will know just how much this relegation hurts me. I feel very close to Hannover, to the club and to the people.

"I think that a club like this belongs in the Bundesliga, without any ifs or buts. That's why I really hope that the second league will only be a short stopover."
