Manchester City are close to completing a deal for Colombian forward Marlos Moreno, according to multiple reports in the British media.
Moreno, 19, is set to move to the Etihad from Colombian side Atletico Nacional in a deal worth a reported £8.23 million and is expected to be sent out on loan to gain experience, with La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna a possible destination.
A host of big European clubs were linked with a move for the teenager including Barcelona, Manchester United, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon but City appear to be front-runners in the race for his signature.
Moreno has already won seven caps for Colombia and was a half-time substitute in his country's Copa America semifinal defeat to Chile in June.
He has also been a major part of Atletico's run to the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores scoring three goals in 10 games and is the joint leader for most assists in the tournament.
Atletico coach Reinaldo Rueda says that Moreno and other players will remain at the club until the end of the Libertadores.
His side travel to Sao Paulo on Wednesday for the semifinal second leg after winning the first leg 2-0 in Medellin with the two-legged final later this month.
