Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri quiet on Gonzalo Higuain, Paul Pogba

MELBOURNE, Australia -- Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has declined to confirm whether Gonzalo Higuain has had a medical with the Italian champions and refused to answer questions on Paul Pogba's potential move to Manchester United.

Sky Sport Italia has reported that Juve have agreed to meet the €94.7 million release clause in Napoli striker Higuain's contract and that the 28-year-old underwent a medical in Madrid on Friday.

Asked about the rumours after Juve's penalty shootout defeat to Melbourne Victory on Saturday, Allegri said only: "I don't talk about transfer news. The only thing I can talk about tonight is the game."

Allegri also declined to offer any updates on the progress of midfielder Pogba's transfer to United.

"As I said before, I'm not going to talk about transfer news," he said. "We just had a game. I'm not sure what's happened in the transfer market during the last few days, so once again I prefer to have questions during the game."

Allegri's side were short of big names against the A-League team but the coach confirmed that Miralem Pjanic and Medhi Benatia would be available for Tuesday's match against Tottenham after being rested.

He added: "It was a decent workout for us. I'm happy with how our youngsters performed this evening."

On Carlos Blanco's stunning opening goal for Juve, he said: "He's got good feet and scored a splendid goal."
