Burnley are set to beat Hull City to the signing of Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.
Hull were hoping to win the race for Hendrick after agreeing a fee with Derby for the Republic of Ireland international on Monday.
However, long-term admirers Burnley have now matched that fee for the 24-year-old.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is a big admirer of Hendrick and feels the attacking midfielder will prove a valuable addition to his side in the Premier League.
Hendrick's future at Derby has been the subject of speculation following his impressive performances for Ireland at Euro 2016 in France this summer.
Derby are reluctant to lose Hendrick, who has come through the ranks at the club, but Burnley have matched their valuation.
Hendrick is currently away on international duty but Ireland boss Martin O'Neill is happy to let the midfielder travel back to England for talks and a medical at Burnley.
