Juventus midfielder Hernanes says he deserves to be whistled for his poor play since joining the Bianconeri last summer.
The 31-year-old Brazilian moved to Turin from arch-rival Inter Milan for €13 million, but has failed to live up to his considerable reputation -- built up primarily during his four seasons with Lazio -- at the Juventus Stadium.
As a consequence, Hernanes has regularly been the subject of derision at his new club. And he told Sky Sport on Thursday that he understands fans' discontent.
"I know very well that my performances last season cannot be compared to what the people here are used to from previous seasons," Hernanes told Sky Sport.
"I would have whistled myself as well had I been a fan.
"I changed clubs, though, and it is never easy to do well right away in new circumstances.
"I am determined to improve now and contribute to the team. This Juventus is the strongest team I ever played for throughout my career."
