Luiz Gustavo 'can't help us right now' - Wolfsburg coach Valerien Ismael

Wolfsburg coach Valerien Ismael has thrown the future of midfielder Luiz Gustavo into doubt amid reports that the Bundesliga strugglers are ready to sell him following the arrival of Riechedly Bazoer.

Bazoer, 20, is set to join Wolfsburg from Ajax in January, with a squad overhaul set to mean the departure of several players in January.

Former Bayern Munich player Gustavo, 29, has dropped down the pecking order in recent weeks and Ismael told Bild: "Luiz can't help us right now."

Bild reported that Gustavo would be allowed to go if a club meets the €15 million asking price.

It linked the Brazilian, who reportedly earns an annual salary of €9m, with either Inter Milan or Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande.

On Wednesday, Wolfsburg announced the transfer of Bazoer, thought likely to succeed Gustavo in the holding midfield position.

Meanwhile, Germany international Julian Draxler, 23, has again been linked with a switch away from Wolfsburg, who want around €30m for him, according to Sport Bild.

The former Schalke player is a reported target for Arsenal, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

Wolfsburg have only picked up 10 points from 14 league games this season and sit just one place above the relegation zone.

Coach Dieter Hecking and sporting executive Klaus Allofs have left in recent weeks.
