Nigeria Professional Football League leaders Plateau United were the big winners on match-day 21, while champions Enugu Rangers suffered another heavy defeat.

Lobi Stars 3-0 Shooting Stars
Kingsley Eduwo netted a first half brace and created an assist for the third as Lobi Stars secured a convincing 3-0 home win against Shooting Stars. The away team put up a lethargic display in Makurdi, their third successive loss as they struggle in the relegation zone. Eduwo opened the floodgates in the 11th minute, connecting with Ebube Duru's cross to finish with a flying header. He added a second just before the break, before setting up Sunday Akleche late in the match.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah 2-0 Kano Pillars
FC Ifeanyi Ubah extended their unbeaten league run to eight games following the 2-0 win against Pillars, with Godwin Obaje netting in each half to propel the Nnewi-based team up to third place. Obaje, who also scored twice in last week's win against Shooting Stars, finished King Osanga's low cross early on for the opener. His second came just after the restart from the spot, burying his penalty after Alassan Ibrahim handled in the area.

Niger Tornadoes 3-0 MFM FC
MFM FC continued their shaky start to the second round, recording a heavy away defeat in Lokoja against Tornadoes. The Lagos-based team were second going into the game, but ended the day in fourth after two goals from Wakili Abdullahi and another from Wilfred Ammeh.

El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1 Rivers United
El-Kanemi Warriors continued their perfect home form in Maiduguri, earning a narrow 2-1 win against Rivers United. Poster boy Samuel Mathias maintained his impressive scoring rate on his home ground, netting a now customary penalty for his 11th goal of the season. New signing Bala Yahuza doubled Warriors' advantage in the 81st minute following a goalmouth scramble, rendering Onoriode Odah's stoppage-time strike a mere consolation.

Abia Warriors 4-0 Enugu Rangers
Abia Warriors completed a league double over Enugu Rangers, battering the champions 4-0 in Umuahia to move into eighth place on the log. Sunday Adetunji was the hero for the home side, netting a brace, with Anthony Okemmiri and Obi Sampson getting the others as Rangers fell down to 15th place.

Plateau United 1-0 Remo Stars
Hamzat Owolabi netted the lone goal for Plateau United against bottom-placed Remo Stars; a win which further extended the Jos-based team stay at the top. The hosts could have hit double figures but for the profligacy in front of goal, but would ultimately settle for the lone strike that secured another three points.
