Liverpool are aware of interest from Watford in winger Lazar Markovic, a source has told ESPN FC.
The Merseyside club are keen to recoup the majority of the £20 million they paid Benfica for Markovic in the summer of 2014.
Markovic spent latter half of last season on loan at Hull City under the tutelage of Marco Silva, who became Watford manager last month.
The 23-year-old performed well enough at Hull to have Silva considering making his stay a permanent one, before the Tigers were ultimately relegated from the Premier League, with the Portuguese manager subsequently moving on.
Markovic has played just 34 times for Liverpool since joining three seasons ago, finding himself out of favour under two managers -- Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp.
The winger has also had spells out on loan at Fenerbahce and Sporting Lisbon during his time at Anfield.
He is one of a number of players expected to depart Liverpool this summer, along with Mamadou Sakho, Alberto Moreno and Kevin Stewart.
