Werder Bremen's Sambou Yatabare has been arrested by French police after allegedly punching an officer in an altercation at a Paris airport, French media are reporting.
Yatabare, 28, was arrested by border police at Charles-de-Gaulle airport on Sunday after the incident, which left the officer with a damaged optic nerve.
According to reports, Yatabare struck the officer and knocked them to the ground in an airport car park after an incident on a nearby motorway. Each reportedly blamed the other for cutting them up.
Yatabare's custody was extended on Monday and could last until Tuesday, a source at the court in nearby Bobigny told AFP.
