Algerian midfielder Farid Boulaya has completed a move to Girona FC from SC Bastia, signing a three-year deal with the Spanish side.
Newly promoted Girona have confirmed the move on their official website, revealing that the 24-year-old completed his medical tests in Spain before flying to Manchester to join his teammates for preseason training.
The versatile Boulaya can also feature at left-back, and was part of the Bastia team who were relegated from Ligue 1 last season, making two appearances in their ill-fated attempt to beat the drop.
He'll hope that that experience will serve him well ahead of what's sure to be a testing campaign for Catalonian outfit Girona, who are taking their place at the top table of Spanish football for the first time in their history.
Vitrolles-born Boulaya began his senior career with Istres before signing for Clermont in 2015.
He has dual French-Algerian nationality, and previously represented Les Fennecs at U-20 level.
