Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla has told Montreal Impact he wants to leave after the MLS club rejected several offers for his services, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.
A number of European clubs including Chelsea are tracking Tabla, 18, after the winger's impressive showings for Montreal in the MLS this season.
Tabla scored on his first MLS start for Impact in April after progressing from the reserves and he has scored three goals in 19 appearances so far this season.
An unnamed European club firmed up their interest in Tabla by making a bid for him, sources said, but the Impact have not entered negotiations over a possible deal.
The sources said Tabla's suitors have made several offers for the player but Montreal is not willing to open talks, leading the youngster to inform the club of his desire to play in Europe.
Montreal's stance has upset Tabla, with sources saying the teenager is angry and disappointed that the club are denying him the chance to move.
Tabla was born in Ivory Coast and raised in Canada, where he has played for the he under-17 and under-20 national teams. He is under contract at Montreal until December 2018.
