FIFA brings end to Pakistan suspension for court interference

ZURICH -- FIFA has lifted the Pakistan football federation's suspension, imposed in October because of outside interference by a court.

Rules imposed by world football's governing body and its members prohibit outside influence on their independence.

FIFA said Pakistan's federation had this month "successfully taken back control" of its offices and accounts from a court-appointed administrator.

The country's men's national team has not played since 2015, according to FIFA's website, and is ranked No. 203 among 211 members.

But Pakistan teams and officials can resume taking part in international games and meetings, including voting for the 2026 World Cup host in Moscow on June 13.

The North American bid by the United States, Canada and Mexico is competing against Morocco.
