Aston Villa are battling Derby County and Stoke City for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on loan, sources have told ESPN FC.
Wilson was left out of the Liverpool squad to face Bury in their preseason friendly on Saturday as he closes in on a loan move.
The skillful attacker is highly regarded at Anfield and was handed a new long-term deal at the club earlier this week as reward for his continued progress.
The Wales international has been chased by a host of clubs this summer on loan and Liverpool are ready to sanction another loan move for Wilson as he is unlikely to break into Jurgen Klopp's first team next season.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an outstanding loan spell at Hull City in the second half of last season, scoring seven goals in 13 appearances for the Tigers.
Liverpool feel Wilson will benefit from another season in the Championship so that he can continue his development with regular first-team football next season.
Stoke and Derby have both made offers for Wilson as they look to build squads capable of challenging for promotion next season, but Aston Villa are planning a late move to try and convince the player to make the move to Villa Park.
