Gab Marcotti and Don Hutchison discuss Virgil van Dijk's future after the defender was found wanting on multiple occasions vs. Arsenal. (1:52)

The transfer window may be closed around Europe, but teams are looking ahead to the summer and there's plenty of gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Arsenal eye Real Sociedad duo

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Real Sociedad duo Robin Le Normand and Martin Zubimendi in action, says Fabrizio Romano.

Zubimendi, 24, has been linked with a move to Barcelona, who see him as an ideal long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets, and also Manchester United. The midfielder has a release clause of €60 million and has been a key part of Real Sociedad's rise to fourth in LaLiga this season.

Defender Le Normand, 26, has a release clause of €50m and the Gunners are keen to sign him after their lack of defensive depth was exposed by an injury to William Saliba.

Real Sociedad aren't keen to let either player depart, but a €110m combined fee would be hard to turn down.

LIVE BLOG

21.30 BST: Erik ten Hag will oversee a squad overhaul in the summer at Manchester United, with Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Scott McTominay and Fred heading up a list of at least 15 senior players whose respective futures are in doubt, reports the Guardian. The Red Devils manager is also considering letting Donny van de Beek, Anthony Elanga, Dean Henderson and Brandon Williams depart. Players out on loan like Alex Telles, Hannibal Mejbri and Eric Bailly are almost certain to leave, too, while out-of-contract Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe will definitely head out of Old Trafford.

20.57 BST: Barcelona will look to loan out right-back Julian Araujo in the summer, according to Sport. The 21-year-old Mexico international reportedly has struggled to settle and has not been helped by his inability to play competitive matches after the registration for his move from LA Galaxy in January didn't go through in time, and the feeling is that he needs minutes to adapt to European football, which he is not guaranteed to get from Xavi Hernandez.

20.24 BST: Torino are aiming to have the strongest defence possible next season by ensuring they keep centre-back Perr Schuurs, renew the contract of centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno and sign Fatih Karagumruk centre-back Rayyan Baniya, reports Tuttosport. This comes with the determination that manager Ivan Juric will not start preseason with a reduced squad, as has been the case in the past two years.

19.51 BST: Aston Villa could transfer full-backs Lucas Digne, 29, and Matty Cash, 25, out of the club in the summer, according to Football Insider. The pair reportedly have failed to convince manager Unai Emery since his arrival, and likely will be among numerous departures to make way for incoming summer signings.

19.18 BST: FC Porto midfielder Mateus Uribe has committed to joining Lazio despite interest from Atletico Madrid, reports Corriere dello Sport, with the Colombia international's contract expiring in the summer. However, Maurizio Sarri has asked to wait until he knows who will be leaving the Italian capital club before making a move for the 32-year-old as he focuses on ensuring the Biancocelesti secure their place in next season's Champions League.

18.39 BST: Ligue 1 and English clubs are looking at Bordeaux striker Josh Maja, reports Foot Mercato, which adds that LaLiga strugglers Real Valladolid have already made an offer for the 24-year-old once-capped Nigeria international. His current contract runs out this summer but renews with an extra year if Bordeaux are promoted to Ligue 1. They are currently second in Ligue 2 and Maja is happy to stay put if they remain in the promotion places come the end of the season.

17.53 BST: Barcelona are progressing in negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for on-loan centre-back Clement Lenglet to join the north London club permanently, reports Sport, which adds that the 27-year-old's arrangement doesn't include a signing option. Inter Milan are among the other clubs looking at the Frenchman but Spurs have been given the priority for a transfer set to be worth more than €12m.

17.00 BST: Newcastle United have identified Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount and Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse as their three priority signins for the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. This follows a report from the same outlet that suggests the Magpies have withdrawn their interest in West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice due to the Hammers' demands.

16.00 BST: Barcelona signed Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid for €120m in 2019. He left for €20m to return to Atletico this summer.

15.08 BST: Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Keylor Navas has admitted his future is still up in the air as he is still under contract with Paris Saint-Germain and the French club are yet to inform him of their plans for the coming season.

Navas, 36, moved on loan to join Forest in January after slipping behind Gianluigi Donnarumma in the pecking order. The Costa Rica international is unlikely to usurp the 24-year-old Donnarumma in Paris and could move on, but wants to know what his club are thinking first.

"I would like to know the intentions of the team [Paris Saint-Germain] when my loan with Nottingham Forest is over," he said. "After that we can make decisions. It is true that Nottingham has received me very well. My family is happy, and that's important to me. We don't know what will happen. We have to wait a little bit, and in the future we will see what will happen.

14.22 BST: AC Milan are still in the market to sign a No. 9 striker despite having renewed Olivier Giroud's contract.

The Rossoneri confirmed this week that 36-year-old striker Giroud had signed a new deal until June 2024. But Milan still want to reinforce their attack and are considering several candidates.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal and England U21 striker Folarin Balogun is one of the top targets.

Balogun has scored 19 goals in 32 appearances since joining Reims on loan from Arsenal in June and is under contract with the Gunners until June 2025. While other players that Milan are reported to be monitoring are Tigre striker Mateo Retegui, West Ham's Gianluca Scamacca and Watford's Joao Pedro.

13.55 BST: Brazil forward Neymar says he dreams of returning to play for Santos one day.

Neymar, 31, is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2025 and, recovering from an ankle injury in his native Brazil, attended his former club Santos' goalless draw against Audax Italiano.

"It's too nice to come back to my home," Neymar told reporters. "I feel at home here, so happy to be back here after 10 years. Unfortunately it was a draw, I wanted the win. I came here to support Santos and receive the affection of the fans. It was the club that gave me everything, that opened doors for me and my family, that revealed me to the world. I am very happy and content to be here. If I dream of it (playing for Santos again), imagine them (fans)."

13.03 BST: Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel has not ruled out remaining at Atletico Madrid beyond June 2024 when his contract runs out.

Witsel, 34, joined Atletico last summer as a free agent after his contract with Borussia Dortmund expired. Earlier this year, his contract was automatically renewed for another season after playing 25 games with at least 50 percent of the minutes played.

"For the time being I'm going to continue (for a further season)," Witsel said). "We will see if I will remain longer. "I'm happy here. My family is happy in Madrid."

12.30 BST: Bayern Munich have really struggled since appointing a new manager.

11.41 BST: Barcelona are looking to raise €100m from the transfer window this summer to pave the way for Lionel Messi's return, Mundo Deportivo reports.

Barca need to raise funds and lower their wage bill to register existing contracts (like Gavi's) and sign new players this summer, with LaLiga requiring at least €150m in savings before they reach the required salary cap.

The Catalan club have made a list of players that could be moved on and among those are Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati.

Ansu Fati's father, Boro Fati, admitted last month that he wanted his son to leave Barca this summer due to a lack of playing time under coach Xavi. And Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Tottenham are closely monitoring the 20-year-old winger.

Torres, who signed for Barca in a €55m deal from Manchester City in 2021, is a reported target of Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

While, often overlooked for Ousmane Dembele, who can play on either side of the front three, Brazilian winger Raphinha is a target of Newcastle United.

11.04 BST: Celta Vigo president Carlos Mourino says he's had no contact with Real Madrid over a move for Gabri Veiga, but admitted that given the midfielder's contractual situation, potential suitors could bypass the club and speak to the player directly.

Veiga, 20, has a €40m release clause and is set to leave Celta this summer after a breakthrough LaLiga season which has seen him score nine goals and provide four assists so far.

"I don't know, I'm not aware [of Real Madrid interest]," Mourino told the EFE news agency ahead of Celta's game with Madrid on Saturday. "There hasn't been any contact with us, I don't know if there has with the player. We have an agreement, given the circumstances the player has with the club, that whoever is interested in signing him has to organise it with the player."

Mourino claimed last month that "four of the Premier League's top 10" had enquired about Veiga, with ESPN reporting that Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle were all tracking the midfielder.

10.41 BST: Luka Modric has received a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia that would double what the midfielder would earn at Real Madrid next season, according to Diario AS.

Modric, 37, is yet to agree a new contract at the Bernabeu, with his deal set to expire in June.

The Croatia international would earn €25m per season after tax in Saudi Arabia, AS reports, on a two-year deal.

AS claims that there are some doubts at Madrid over Modric's ability to keep performing for club and country as he turns 38 in September, with the Ballon d'Or winner keen to continue representing Croatia ahead of Euro 2024.

10.07 BST: Chelsea will receive £1m in compensation after allowing highly-rated coach Anthony Barry to join Bayern Munich, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

The two clubs have been locked in talks ever since Thomas Tuchel took up his position as Bayern head coach last month but a package has now been agreed.

Tuchel inherited Barry as part of his backroom staff when becoming Chelsea boss in January 2021 and together the pair won the Champions League within four months.

After joining Bayern, Tuchel confirmed his intention to bring Barry to the Allianz Arena. "My coaching staff wasn't prepared either, so a big thank you to their families for their flexibility," he said. "Arno Michels and Zsolt Low, who have been working with me for over 10 years, will be there. We're hoping to add Anthony Barry, who is currently at Chelsea."

09.50 BST: Joao Felix will have a place in the Atletico Madrid squad if he returns this summer, says club president Enrique Cerezo.

Felix, 23, joined Chelsea in January on a six-month loan from Atletico but has failed to impress at Stamford Bridge.

Amid reports that Chelsea will not make a move to sign the €126m forward on a permanent basis this summer, with Felix likely to return to Atletico, Cerezo said: "Joao? We don't know what will happen. In football you can't take something for granted. He will have a space in the team if he returns."

09.35 BST: Arsenal and Man United are among the clubs keen on Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, according to 90min.

Mazraoui, 25, moved to Bayern on a free transfer from Ajax in the summer but hasn't cemented his place in the first XI under Julian Nagelsmann or new manager Thomas Tuchel.

The Morocco international impressed for his country at the World Cup and is now looking to move on after growing frustrated with his lack of game time.

Inter, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are also linked in the report, alongside Premier League sides Newcastle United, Wolves, West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

09.03 BST: Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici has resigned after he had his 30-month suspension from football upheld by Italy's highest sports court on Thursday.

Juventus had their 15-point deduction suspended, lifting the club up to third in Serie A. However, the court upheld several bans on directors, including Paratici and Andrea Agnelli, although Pavel Nedved was one of six former board members whose appeals were accepted.

Spurs said in a statement: "Yesterday, Fabio Paratici was unsuccessful with an appeal against his Italian Football Federation (FIGC) ban on certain football related activities.

"FIFA ruled to extend the ban worldwide and, whilst there continues to be a dispute as to the scope and extent of the ban, the current worldwide ban prevents Fabio from fulfilling his duties as our Managing Director of Football. Fabio has consequently taken the decision to resign from his position at the Club with immediate effect to focus on his legal position in respect of the FIGC and FIFA rulings."

Paratici's ban was extended worldwide by FIFA last month -- which he has appealed and is still waiting to hear the result of -- and Spurs announced shortly after the Italian would take a leave of absence.

His ban was issued for his part in a false accounting scandal involving Juventus, where he worked for 11 years, that led to the club's board resigning en masse in November.

08.30 BST: Chelsea must try to offload as many players as possible from their bloated squad by June 30 to avoid financial fair play problems, reports the Evening Standard.

Chelsea have spent more than £600m on players since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took control of the club a year ago. But with the club almost certain to be without any European football next season after Tuesday's Champions League exit to Real Madrid, with the Blues languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, funds are needed to balance the books.

The report states that Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will all be made available for transfer. Mason Mount, about to enter the final 12 months of his contract, is almost certain to leave and is wanted by Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Players must be offloaded by the end of June for the funds to count in the 2022-23 financial accounts, but their desperation to bring in funds will put rival clubs in a position of power in negotiations. Added to that, clubs often don't start doing their transfer business until preseason is under way in July.

PAPER GOSSIP

- Discussions between Barcelona and Inter Milan are ongoing over a potential swap deal involving midfielders Franck Kessie and Marcelo Brozovic, reports Sport. With Barcelona's financial situation, a player exchange for the 30-year-old Brozovic looks to be the only way that a move could be completed. The Nerazzurri are keen admirers of 26-year-old Kessie, and are open to negotiating a potential deal.

- An offer of €150m will be required to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, reveals Gazzetta dello Sport. Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are all keen on the 24-year-old, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is doing everything he can to keep him at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

- Napoli are focusing their efforts on an attempt to sign Atlanta United winger Thiago Almada, writes Calciomercato. The 21-year-old Argentina international, who has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Internazionale and Juventus, has been in impressive form in MLS since joining the Five Stripes from Velez Sarsfield for $16 million in December 2021, having contributed to 22 goals in 35 league matches across two seasons. Almada was part of the Argentina squad that won the World Cup -- becoming the first active MLS player to do so -- and is garnering more attention from across Europe following his performances.

- Villarreal defender Pau Torres is on the radar of Aston Villa, writes Football Insider. Villa manager Unai Emery is keen to reunite with the 26-year-old, and will join the race despite plans by the Yellow Submarine to offer him a contract extension. Torres, a Spain international, is contracted at Estadio de la Ceramica until the summer of 2024.

- Marseille have made Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria their top priority in the transfer window, according to Foot Mercato. With the Ligue 1 side keen to move on Matteo Guendouzi, it looks as though they have identified the 26-year-old as his replacement. Zakaria, on loan at Chelsea this season, has made just five Premier League starts.

- Brighton have no plans to part ways with winger Simon Adingra on a permanent basis, reports Ekrem Konur. The 21-year-old has been in excellent form for Belgian club Union St. Gilloise this season, where he has contributed to 22 goals in 42 matches across all competitions, and despite clubs monitoring his situation, Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi is looking to use him as part of his first-team squad next season. Brighton and Union St. Gilloise are both owned by Tony Bloom.
