TOP STORY: Benfica's Ramos on Man United's radar
Manchester United are plotting a move for Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos, according to the Daily Mirror.
Talks are set to take place with the Lisbon club over a deal worth over €100 million including add-ons, with the Old Trafford hierarchy marking the 21-year-old Portugal international as a prospect for the future.
Ramos is enjoying his best season with 17 goals in 27 league matches, but it was his display against Switzerland in the 2022 World Cup knockout stages last December that saw more clubs across Europe begin to take notice -- scoring a hat trick during a match where he was selected over Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is thought that he isn't on manager Erik ten Hag's shortlist as an alternative to Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who is still be the Red Devils' priority this summer, but as an additional option.

22.11 BST: Roma manager Jose Mourinho is on the shortlist of Paris Saint-Germain to take over as their head coach, writes Foot Mercato. President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is said to have held positive talks with the former Real Madrid head coach, who informed the club's hierarchy of his plans to turn their fortunes around.
PSG are also reported to be interested in Bologna manager Thiago Motta, who previously enjoyed an eight-year spell as a player for the Ligue 1 side.
21.53 BST: Wolves are leading the race to sign Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres, reports Sky Sports.
Multiple Premier League clubs are believed to be keen on the 24-year-old, who contributed to 31 goals in 46 league matches, with West Ham and Crystal Palace also watching him closely. As the Sky Blues currently prepare for the Championship playoffs, any potential move for Gyokeres is reported to hinge on whether or not they gain promotion to England's top flight.
21.18 BST: We know they're busy with a Champions League semifinal, first leg, against Milan right now, but reports suggest Inter Milan will demand a transfer fee in the region of €40 million if they are to part ways with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona are understood to be interested in the 30-year-old as a potential midfield reinforcement, with representatives from the Nerazzurri having already held talks in Catalonia. While Brozovic did sign a new four-year deal at the San Siro last year, which would keep in at the club until the summer of 2026, but it is said that his club are willing to move him on as they look to ease their financial stresses, with the club soon to make payments on emergency loans taken out in 2021.
20.31 BST: Aston Villa are preparing to make an offer for Marseille midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, understands Ekrem Konur. The 24-year-old was previously linked with the Villains in January, and the latest reporting suggests that they are set to re-ignite their pursuit of his signature when the transfer window opens.
Guendouzi left Premier League side Arsenal last summer, and has since impressed in his return to France's top flight, where he has contributed to six goals in 30 matches. He'd be a good fit to a Villa team that needs more depth in midfield after successfully solidifying their position in the Premier League's top 10 under Unai Emery.

19.18 BST: If Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini has been identified as a potential successor if Kim Min-Jae leaves Napoli, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Why are Napoli looking at alternatives? For a start, the storied club just clinched their first Serie A title since 1989-90 and talk has already turned to what the champions might look like next season. With some players -- namely Victor Osimhen -- expected to garner interest this summer, the same is true of defender Kim, who made 33 appearances this season in Serie A and has been rock-solid.
Both Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked with interest in Kim, who has a release clause of €55million, and it looks as though the Scudetto winners are preparing themselves for what's ahead this summer. It is reported that Scalvini, 19, could be acquired for a fee in the region of €30 million, with other top clubs in Serie A following his situation closely as well.
18.36 BST: Up next, a bit of news involving a Premier League giant, as Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Internazionale forward Lautaro Martinez, according to Football Insider.
With manager Erik ten Hag keen to reinforce his forward options this summer, it is understood that the Red Devils see the 25-year-old as a viable option. Not only has he got a proven track record of scoring in big leagues, but he could be acquired for a lower fee than others on their shortlist, including Napoli's Victor Osimhen.
Lautaro has remained in impressive form this season since previously being linked with Arsenal, having contributed to 24 goals in 34 Serie A matches. It's clear United need goals given their recent form, with just seven goals in their last nine league games that has increased the pressure on them in the race for fourth place and automatic Champions League qualification.
The Argentina forward would be a great add to a squad with plenty of attacking talent, like Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, as United look to return to the summit of English football.
17.55 BST: Barcelona wingback Jordi Alba wants to remain at the Camp Nou beyond this summer, according to Sport.
The 34-year-old has recently attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, as they look to fill out their squads with more stars alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, but it is reported that Alba does not want to make the switch. Alba would like to remain close to his family, not least because he is expecting the birth of his third child.
Alba still has over a year left on his existing deal at Barcelona, though talks are reportedly ongoing with the Blaugrana hierarchy when it comes to figuring out his future.
17.08 BST: Clubs in the Premier League and Ligue 11 are interested in Bayern Munich fullback Bouna Sarr, writes Foot Mercato.
It is reported that the 31-year-old is expected to leave the Allianz Arena in the summer, with clubs having already made enquiries over his services. Sarr, a Senegal international, has struggled to earn regular playing time for the Bundesliga champions since he joined from Marseille, where he has since made just five league starts in three seasons.
16.11 BST: Thomas Muller could leave Bayern Munich this summer, says Bild.
Muller, 33, has slipped down the pecking order under new coach Thomas Tuchel and may opt for a new challenge.
However, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn was asked about a possible exit for the forward and said: "That's not going to happen. If it ever came to that, I would talk him out of it in no uncertain terms. Thomas is fit, never injured and has an incredibly strong character. He is incredibly important to the whole team. I'm sure Thomas will play many more games for us."
Muller reportedly has offers from MLS and Saudi Arabia but wants to stay in Munich as long as his playing time increases.
15.54 BST: Pep Guardiola has told ESPN Argentina that Lionel Messi "will do the impossible" to return to former club Barcelona when his Paris Saint-Germain contract ends this summer.
Messi's father and agent Jorge Messi issued a statement on Tuesday denying that the forward has an agreement in place to move to Saudi Arabia next season. Sources previously told ESPN that Messi will leave the club in the summer and he is considering an offer to join Al Hilal, the city rivals of Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr.
Messi was forced to leave Barca in August 2021 when the LaLiga club's financial squeeze left them unable to register a new deal for the Argentina captain. The Catalan club's vice president Rafa Yuste said in March they were in contact with the 35-year-old over a potential return.
"I never would have thought that it would end as it did," Guardiola said. "I'm convinced what president [Joan] Laporta loves Leo, and since he left, he has said [Messi] deserves to have a farewell for the important figure that he is.
"Leo helped our club [Barcelona] become much greater than when he arrived. When a person is so big, you have to say goodbye in the right way. He left because of very difficult financial circumstances, for thousands of reasons that I'm not going to get into.
"I hope the day comes when I'm in my seat [at Camp Nou] and I can stand up and applaud, and say goodbye to Leo as he deserves. And I know that Joan [Laporta] is going to try, and Leo too, and he and his family will receive all the love that Barcelona fans have for him, with all the gratitude and respect for what he did for the club."
15.19 BST: The Athletic reports that winger Rafael Leao has signed a new five-year deal with AC Milan.
Leao, 23, played a big role in Milan's Serie A success last season and has helped the club to the semifinals of the Champions League this campaign.
The Portugal international had been linked with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Man City, but he has reportedly signed a new contract until June 2028, worth around €7m per season in wages, plus €2m in bonuses.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, his former club Lille have paid a €22m fine to Sporting CP after he terminated his contract in 2018 without the Portuguese club's consent.
14.51 BST: Sporting CP defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte is a major target for Liverpool, says Record.
Ugarte, 22, impressed for Uruguay at the World Cup and has been on the radar of Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Liverpool are reported to be ready to make a €60m move to meet his release clause and beat out the competition.
14.13 BST: A while ago there were rumours that Barcelona could move to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.
And now that Barca's director of football Mateu Alemany is leaving for Aston Villa, it's not a huge surprise to see Asensio linked with them now.
Asensio, 27, could depart for nothing this summer unless he agrees new terms in Madrid, but Marca claims Villa are offering the Spain international a salary of €8m-a-year, which would double his current wage.
13.34 BST: Manchester United's greatest players from Sir Alex Ferguson's most successful teams will be offered the chance to return to Old Trafford in prominent roles if Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani succeeds in his bid to buy the club, sources have told ESPN.
Such a move would open the door for high-profile players from United's 1999 Treble winners, including the "Class of 92" group of home-grown stars such as Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, and leading figures from the club's most recent Champions League-winning team of 2008, to represent the club at various levels.
Sources have told ESPN that the absence of the club's most renowned players within the United hierarchy is an issue that Sheikh Jassim is determined to address to ensure that the club takes advantage of the profile and experience of former greats in a similar manner to clubs such as Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and AC Milan, who all employ some of the team's most iconic players in senior roles.

11.58 BST: Liverpool are keen to sign Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan this summer, says Gianluca Di Marzio.
Barella, 26, has been linked with a move away from Italy for many years but the Reds are set to scout him in the Champions League semifinal against Milan on Wednesday.
Liverpool need midfield reinforcements, while Inter are struggling financially and may be forced to move some players on when the transfer window reopens.
Barella has a contract until 2026 and is one of the club's most valuable players with a possible transfer fee of around €80m.
11.25 BST: Chelsea want to sign forward Joao Felix permanently and could include striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and full-back Marc Cucurella in the deal.
The Evening Standard claims that the Blues are keen for Felix to stay once his year-long loan expires, but Atletico Madrid want over €100m for a player who cost them €126m to sign from Benfica in 2019.
As result, Chelsea are looking to bring down the overall cost of the deal and are ready to include flops Aubameyang (€12m) and Cucurella (€63m), despite spending a combined €75m to sign the pair less than a year ago.
10.43 BST: Aaron Ramsdale is close to agreeing a new long-term contract with Arsenal, sources have told ESPN.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper has two years remaining on his existing deal but the club were keen to reward him for a prominent role in their unexpected Premier League title push with a significant improvement on his £60,000-a-week agreement.
Ramsdale has started all 35 league games this season, keeping 13 clean sheets -- only Manchester United's David de Gea (15) has registered a higher number. He excelled once again in Sunday's 2-0 win at Newcastle United which moved Arsenal to within one point of leaders Manchester City, albeit having played a game more.
A formal announcement over Ramsdale's deal is expected soon and his rise to prominence is a dramatic shift from the negativity around his move in the summer of 2021.
10.21 BST: Sergio Busquets will leave Barcelona when his contract expires this summer, the club announced on Wednesday, bringing to an end a spell that has seen him win eight LaLiga titles and three Champions Leagues.
Busquets, 34, had an offer to extend his stay at Spotify Camp Nou, with Barca coach Xavi Hernandez expressing his desire for the club captain to remain at the club. However, after 18 years at the Catalan club -- and 15 in the first team -- Busquets has decided to spend the final years of his playing career elsewhere.
Busquets has not yet confirmed his next move, but ESPN revealed in January he has a lucrative offer on the table to join a club in Saudi Arabia.
He has also previously expressed an interest in playing in Major League Soccer, with Inter Miami one of the sides he name-checked.
09.47 BST: Benfica full-back Alejandro Grimaldo says he faces a "complicated decision" on whether to continue at the club next season.
Grimaldo, 27, becomes a free agent this summer and has been offered a contract extension. A youth product of Barcelona, Grimaldo arrived at Benfica in 2016 and has become a fans' favourite.
Former club Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Fulham and Bayern Leverkusen are among the clubs that are reportedly monitoring his situation.
"It's a complicated decision," Grimaldo said in Record when asked if he will continue at Benfica beyond this summer. "It's not easy, because Benfica is the club of my life. I've spent all my senior years here.
"We have to think about what is important and, in reality, what is important is winning the championship. Whether I stay or not, if I make a decision, it is not as important as Benfica winning the championship."
09.03 BST: Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni says he doesn't care where Lionel Messi plays next season as long as the player is happy.
Messi, 35, is out of contract at PSG in June, and his future remains uncertain. Sources told ESPN last week he will leave the club after two years in France, but his next move remains unknown and his father and agent, Jorge, denied reports the forward has an agreement in place to move to Saudi Arabia next season.
"Leo has to go and play where he feels comfortable, that his teammates and the club want him, that he feels good," Scaloni said in Ole. "The country is not important, but that he feels comfortable in that club and the club with him. It's all a communion, let him decide the best."
Asked what was key for Argentina to win the World Cup in Qatar, Scaloni said: "Having Messi is the magic recipe, I won the title because of him and not him because of me, that's the key. Any coach would like to have a player like him. It would be necessary to put him in [the best] condition so that he can get the most out of his football, that he feels comfortable on the pitch."
08.30 BST: Chelsea hope that Mauricio Pochettino's imminent arrival as the club's new manager will persuade N'Golo Kante to stay, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Kante, 32, is out of contract in the summer and so far has failed to agree terms to extend his deal.
The report says that Chelsea opened negotiations after Graham Potter was sacked as coach, and that Kante has an appreciation of Pochettino's methods.
The midfielder was linked with Paris Saint-Germain earlier in this season, of which Kante has missed much of through injury.

- Barcelona are set to make a final offer for Fiorentina defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, says Sport. The Blaugrana are prioritising a move for a player who can play in the pivot role this summer, with Amrabat said to be their priority option if they can agree to a fee with La Viola, but they are not willing to offer more than €25m. It is reported that the Serie A side will first see whether they can acquire a higher fee by offering the Morocco international to Premier League clubs.
- Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are interested in Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, reveals the Daily Mirror. The 30-year-old, who impressed in Germany's top flight with Borussia Monchengladbach, will enter the final year of his contract in June, and manager Xabi Alonso is hopeful that the Gunners will be willing to part ways with him. Xhaka has been in excellent form in Arsenal's Premier League title challenge this season, having scored seven goals while assisting another five in 34 matches.
- Liverpool have identified Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler as a backup option, writes Bild. With uncertainty emerging over the future of Caoimhin Kelleher, the report indicates that the Reds are moving quickly to find a potential successor. Zieler, 34, will enter the final year of his contract in the summer, with Hannover yet to offer him extended terms. Zieler came through the youth ranks at Manchester United but didn't make a senior appearance.
- An agreement is close between AC Milan and forward Rafael Leao over a new contract, reports Gianluca Di Marzio. Recent talks were positive and the 23-year-old Portugal international is set to sign terms to remain at San Siro beyond the summer of 2024. Leao has previously been linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid, but his new contract doesn't rule out a summer move, it just means Milan will get a higher transfer fee.
- Arsenal are set to reward goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for his performances this season with a new contract, reports the Times. Talks are believed to be at an advanced stage with the 24-year-old, who has established himself as the Gunners' No. 1 since arriving from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021.
