Liga MX player sorry for shining laser at opposing GK's eyes

Tigres goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman has apologised to Monterrey counterpart Esteban Andrada for the laser incident during Sunday's Liga MX game between the sides.

Guzman, who was injured and did not feature in Sunday's city derby, was captured in multiple videos shining a green laser pointer from the VIP section in the stands at Andrada, who started for Monterrey in the 3-3 draw, and at rival defender Sergio Canales.

"As I already did privately and in coherence with the values ​​of the Institution that I represent, I want to take advantage of the importance of Social Networks to publicly offer my apologies to Esteban for the event that occurred last night during first half of the Clasico Regio," Guzman, 38, wrote in a post on X.

The Mexican federation's disciplinary committee announced on Monday night that they are starting an investigation of the incident after receiving a complaint from Monterrey

"The investigation process began once the formal request was made by CF Monterrey. This investigation will focus on inappropriate conduct that affected CF Monterrey players," the FMF said in a statement.
