Nottingham Forest are close to beating Wolves to the signing of Scotland striker Ché Adams, a source has told ESPN.
Adams is set to leave Southampton this summer with his contract expiring. He scored 18 goals last season, including 16 in the Championship, as Southampton booked their return to the Premier League after beating Leeds United in the playoff final.

The 27-year-old is close to an agreement to join Forest on a free transfer despite strong interest from Wolves.
NNuno Espírito Santo's side retained their place in the Premier League last season after finishing 17th in the table, six points above the relegation places.
Forest secured survival despite being deducted four points for a breach of the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
Adams will bring more top-flight experience to the City Ground after four seasons in the Premier League with Southampton. He scored 25 Premier League goals between 2019 and 2023 after moving to St Mary's from Birmingham City in a £15 million ($19m) deal. He's also had a spell at Sheffield United.
Adams is set to feature for Scotland at Euro 2024 this summer after making Steve Clarke's provisional squad. He's expected to play a key role in Germany following injuries to forwards Lyndon Dykes and Ben Doak.
Adams has scored six goals in 30 games for Scotland since making his international debut in 2021. He found the net in the 2-0 win over Gibraltar on Monday. Scotland kick off their Euros campaign against hosts Germany on June 14.
