Where is the 2019 Champions League final being played?

The final will be played at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, the capital of Spain. The stadium has a capacity of 67,829.

The ground is the home of La Liga side Atletico Madrid. It opened in 2017 to replace Atleti's former home, the Vicente Calderon.

It was originally built and opened in 1994 as part of Madrid's unsuccessful attempt to host the 1997 World Athletics Championships. It closed in 2004 after Madrid failed in its bid to win the hosting rights for the 2016 Olympics. Atleti bought the site in 2013 and completely renovated it.

Who is in the final?

It will be played between the winners of the two semifinals. Liverpool booked their place after completing a historic second-leg comeback against Barcelona. They will face Tottenham Hotspur, who completed their own incredible last minute comeback against Ajax to win 3-2 and knock out the Dutch side on away goals.

When does the match kick off?

The match kicks off on Saturday, June 1 at 21:00 local time (20:00 BST/15:00 EDT/12:00 PDT).

Who is the referee?

The UEFA Referees Committee has announced that Slovenian Damir Skomina will take charge of the 2019 Champions League final.

Skomina, 42, has been an international referee since 2002 and will complete a prestigious European club competition treble. He officiated at the Europa League final between Ajax and Manchester United in 2017, as well as the UEFA Super Cup between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in 2012. He was also fourth official at the 2013 Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

He will be assisted by his countrymen Jure Praprotnik and Robert Vukan. The fourth official will be Antonio Mateu Lahoz from Spain. The video assistant referee role has been assigned to Danny Makkelie from the Netherlands, who will be supported by Pol van Boekel, Felix Zwayer, and Mark Borsch.
