The Florida Gators are back in the NCAA tournament after a two-year hiatus. Coach Mike White, the 2017 SEC Coach of the Year, inherited a team with a 16-17 record in Billy Donovan's final season. In year one under White, the Gators finished 21-15 and reached the NIT quarterfinals. This winter, the Gators were the best team in the SEC not named Kentucky, thanks to a strong stable of guards and a rotation oozing with athleticism. In fact, Florida looked like the SEC's most complete team and a legit Final Four threat for a while. However, the team's starting center, John Egbunu, suffered a torn ACL in February, which is a big loss, both literally and figuratively.
