Orioles recall OF Junior Lake, drop Travis Snider

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Baltimore Orioles have recalled outfielder Junior Lake from Triple-A Norfolk and designated outfielder Travis Snider for assignment.

The Orioles made the moves Friday before the opener of a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels.

Baltimore acquired Lake from the Chicago Cubs on July 31 in a trade for right-hander Tommy Hunter. Lake has 193 games of major league experience, batting .241 with 16 homers and 46 RBI.

Lake was in the Orioles' starting lineup, batting eighth as the designated hitter, on Friday night at the Big A.

Snider batted .237 with three homers and 20 RBI this season for the Orioles, who acquired him from Pittsburgh on Jan. 27.
