The Pittsburgh Pirates placed infielder Jung Ho Kang on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a left side strain.
Kang is batting .133 with 8 RBIs in 31 games this season.
In other moves, the Pirates recalled infielder/outfielder Jake Elmore from Triple-A Indianapolis and transferred right-handed pitcher Jameson Taillon (flexor strain) from the 10- to 60-day injured list.
