The Philadelphia Phillies have obtained right-handed pitcher Mike Morin from the Minnesota Twins for cash considerations, the teams announced.
Morin, 28, has an ERA of 3.18 with 11 strikeouts and two walks in 22 2/3 innings this season. He also has one save and one hold.
He allowed four runs and three hits in one inning against the Oakland Athletics during his final appearance for the Twins on July 4. Morin was designated for assignment on July 16.
Morin is in his sixth season and has also pitched for the Los Angeles Angels, Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners.
In related moves to put Morin on the 25-man roster, right-hander J.D. Hammer was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley and right-hander Seranthony Dominguez was moved to the 60-day injured list.
Hammer has a 3.79 ERA in 20 appearances for the Phillies this season. Dominguez has not pitched since June 5 due to an elbow injury.
