Angels activate infielder Brandon Drury, place Zach Neto on IL

The Los Angeles Angels, who took a disappointing loss against the visiting Seattle Mariners on Thursday night, reinstated infielder Brandon Drury from the injured list on Friday and placed infielder Zach Neto on the 10-day IL with low back inflammation.

Drury, 30, is batting .277 in his first season with the Angels, with 14 home runs and 45 RBIs in 75 games. He went 2-for-11 with one home run in a three-game rehab stint with Triple-A Salt Lake.

Drury began the season hitting only .234 in March/April and .256 in May but rebounded in June, hitting .337 with five home runs and 18 RBIs.

Last season, spent with the Cincinnati Reds (92 games) and San Diego Padres (46 games), Drury hit 28 home runs while slashing .263/.320/.492 en route to winning a Silver Slugger award (utility).

Neto, 22, is in his first big-league season and is batting .241 with eight home runs, 30 RBIs and 31 runs through 67 games.
