Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan exited Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs in the bottom of the third inning with right triceps tightness.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Ryan will be evaluated further after a few days and added the 28-year-old right-hander could miss some time moving forward.
After throwing a pitch to Pete Crow-Armstrong, who was leading off the frame, Ryan motioned toward the dugout and was visited by Baldelli and a trainer. Ryan then left the game following a brief conference.
In his two-plus innings, Ryan gave up one run on one hit. He didn't issue a walk and struck out two. The Twins were leading 2-1 at the time.
Ryan entered Wednesday with a 7-7 record and a 3.59 ERA across 22 starts this season.
