The Los Angeles Angels and veteran closer Kenley Jansen have agreed to a one-year deal worth $10 million, sources confirmed to ESPN.
The deal was first reported Tuesday by the New York Post.
Jansen, 37, has 447 saves -- the most in Major League Baseball among active pitchers -- over his 15-year career. The right-hander spent the past two seasons with the Boston Red Sox and had 27 saves in 2024.
Jansen adds some veteran experience to a promising young Angels bullpen that features the hard-throwing Ben Joyce, who had four saves last season in a brief audition as Los Angeles' closer.
Jansen is fourth on baseball's all-time saves list, behind only Hall of Famers Mariano Rivera (652), Trevor Hoffman (601) and Lee Smith (478).
A four-time All-Star, Jansen spent his first 12 seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers before joining the Atlanta Braves for the 2022 season. Excluding the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Jansen has recorded at least 25 saves in every season since 2012.
