Dwyane Wade has knee swelling, but Bulls coach not concerned

CHICAGO -- Dwyane Wade will be a game-time decision Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of left knee swelling.

"He's feeling better," Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said after Tuesday's practice. "Swelling is down, we'll make a determination on him [Wednesday] for the game. It will probably be all the way up 'til game time."

Wade missed Monday's win over the Charlotte Hornets because of the swelling. In addition to resting, he's missed three games this season.

Hoiberg did not appear worried that Wade's knee would be a long-term issue.

"[I'm] not concerned," Hoiberg said. "He gets it every year, he said, especially the last couple years. It's a matter of maintaining his treatments and being diligent with it, which he'll do. He's done a great job of keeping his body in shape. At this stage of his career, he knows his body as well as anybody. He said in his mind, it's not anything that will be around long-term."

Bulls rookie Denzel Valentine will not make the trip to Cleveland after spraining his left ankle in Monday's win.

"Denzel will not make the trip," Hoiberg said. "He's got pretty significant swelling in that ankle, which obviously is too bad just based on how he played last night and the spark that I thought he gave our team."

Hoiberg also noted that Bulls All-Star swingman Jimmy Butler didn't do much in Tuesday's practice because he was "tired," but Butler is still expected to play vs. the Cavs. Butler scored 52 points in Monday's win.
