The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday that guard Derrick Rose, guard Jeff Teague and forward Robert Covington are all expected to be out for the rest of the season.
Covington has missed the last 34 games while recovering from a right knee bone bruise suffered Dec. 31 at New Orleans. He suffered a setback that will require further treatment before he can return to the court.
Rose has missed the past four games while experiencing soreness and swelling in his right elbow. An MRI taken Tuesday revealed a chip fracture and a loose body in his elbow.
Teague has missed the past four games after aggravating a left foot injury originally suffered in December. On Tuesday, Teague received an injection designed to treat chronic inflammation. He will wear a boot and is scheduled to be re-evaluated in about three weeks.
Minnesota is 32-39, 9½ games out of the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.
