On Monday night, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Regina King hosted the 2022 Met Gala. They were joined by honorary co-chairs Anna Wintour, Tom Ford and Instagram's Adam Mosseri. The gala, otherwise known as "The Oscars of the East Coast" or "Fashion's Biggest Night," was a star-studded affair, to put it mildly. There was at least one Super Bowl champion, a seven-time major tennis champion, a Miami Heat legend, an Olympic gold medalist and a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in the building.

While the A-list turnouts -- and outlandish looks -- have become par for the course over the years, our favorite celebs still found a way to surprise us with their "Gilded Glamour" themed ensembles.

It was tough to look past the best-dressed (Normani, Teyana Taylor and Janelle Monáe, to list a few) and most head-scratching fits (we won't name names), but our focuses were more singular. Namely, which athletes were in attendance?

Here is a look at some of the members of the sports world who showed up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to mingle with fashion's finest and afford us an opportunity to judge, er ... discuss their looks from the comfort of our couches:
