If LeBron James and Russell Westbrook didn't see each other at work, they could now see each other around the same neighborhood at home.
Westbrook, point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, purchased a mansion in Los Angeles Westside for $33.5 million. He bought the home from Petra Ecclestone, the billionaire heiress and daughter of former Formula One chief executive Bernie Ecclestone.
The home is across the street from James'.
The modern farmhouse-style mansion was built in 2018. Ecclestone named the property "Vita Nova" (Latin for "new life") upon buying the home in 2019. According to The New York Times, she and her husband, Sam Palmer, had a Vita Nova logo on candles and towels in the home.
Westbrook, who recently moved to a bench role for the Lakers, has a lot of amenities in his new place. The 13,500-square-foot home has eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms and views of the Pacific Ocean. It has a pool, spa, sundeck, al fresco dining area and two-car garage. The three-story home also comes equipped with an elevator.
The property formerly had a 10-car garage, but, according to the Times, Ecclestone and Palmer converted that space into staff quarters and an office space with a professional-grade laundry facility and dry cleaning.
Although Westbrook is now living in LeBron's neighborhood, he is also still trying to sell a $30 million mansion in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles that he bought in 2018.
