The Philadelphia Eagles placed wide receiver Charles Johnson on the injured reserve Wednesday, making him ineligible to play for them this season. With the extra roster spot, Philadelphia signed tackle Riley Mayfield.
The Eagles signed Johnson in April along with two other players from the Alliance of American Football. Johnson led the now-defunct AAF with 687 receiving yards when the league suspended operations.
He played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2014-16, totaling 60 career receptions for 834 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
