Tennessee Titans activate CB Adoree' Jackson from IR

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans activated cornerback Adoree' Jackson from injured reserve on Wednesday.

Jackson suffered a knee injury resulting in him being placed on IR before the Titans' season-opening 16-14 victory over the Denver Broncos.

After designating Jackson to return from injured reserve, the Titans had three weeks to determine whether he would be added to the active roster. Wednesday was the deadline to do so.

Tennessee picked up Jackson's fifth-year option in May. Jackson, a 2016 18th overall selection by the Titans, has two career interceptions and 33 passes defended.

Jackson impressed new Titans defensive backs coach Anthony Midget during training camp and was primed for the top corner role with the team.

"Adoree has all the ability in the world to be as great as he wants to be," Midget said in August.

Veteran cornerback Johnathan Joseph started in place of Jackson and shared snaps with Tye Smith. Joseph was released by the Titans last week and signed with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday.

The Titans will start third-year corner Breon Borders against the Colts on Thursday since Jackson has already been ruled out of that game.
