Storm shift Tigers clash to Queensland

Melbourne have shifted another home game away from AAMI Park, now taking on the Wests Tigers in their round 15 clash at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

With Melbourne in the midst of a two-week lockdown after a COVID-19 outbreak and the Storm already based in Queensland, the premiers relocated last Saturday's home game against the Gold Coast to their northern base.

And while they could potentially return home after Sunday's round 14 match against the Warriors at Gosford Stadium with lockdown set to end, they have opted to make an early call and return to the Sunshine Coast for the June 19 match.

Their last home game was April 30 and the next is round 18 on July 17 against Newcastle.

The club said the decision to move the game from AAMI Park was made in consultation with the NRL, Victorian government representatives and Melbourne and Olympic Parks.

Storm boss Justin Rodski said they didn't have a choice but to switch venues.

"I can understand the disappointment our members are feeling about missing out on seeing Storm at home over this current lockdown period," Rodski said.

"It's a situation none of us wish to be in but moving next week's game is the only option we have to allow our team to keep playing in the competition."
