Australian Test centre Latrell Mitchell says the Kangaroos have barely scratched the surface of what they are capable of as head coach Mal Meninga nears one of the biggest decisions of his coaching career.
Meninga will name his team for Australia's World Cup quarter-final with Lebanon this Friday in Huddersfield after cruising through the group stages with wins over Fiji, Scotland and Italy.
The big call is whether Daly Cherry-Evans or Nathan Cleary will be his halfback, but the make-up of his backline and forward pack are also still to be determined.
There is little doubt that Mitchell's place in the side is assured and with the stakes raised, the South Sydney star predicted Australia had yet to hit top gear.
"(This team) has way more, this is just a little taste," Mitchell said.
"I don't think we've dealt all the cards.
"It's really enjoyable to see and know that there's opportunity anywhere on the field.
"I'd like to say that we have the best in the world on our team. Hopefully the weather treats me well and I can put on a show."
Australia have scored 192 points across their three pool games and now Meninga, who has indicated that his rotation policy is over, must wittle down his selection.
Up front he has to navigate between the size and power of Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, or the more dynamic options of Reuben Cotter and Jake Trbojevic.
In the backline, Valentine Holmes could fill in at centre or on the wing, but the performances of Campbell Graham may have given the Kangaroos coach food for thought.
Graham was surprised to even receive a call-up but will be vying with Holmes and Murray Taulagi to partner Josh Addo-Carr on the wings after scoring five tries in his first two caps.
"We're all competing for spots, that's the best thing about this team is that you're striving for greatness," Mitchell said.
"I'm feeling the heat with Matt Burton there. Mal has a big headache.
"(Graham) is strong as, he's a big boney thing and you don't want to be in front of him. He's been playing with (a wrist injury) all year.
"He joined our leadership group at Souths and you see the character in him. He's the player you want to play with and I love him to death. He's a beast."
