NRL Round 15 Tipping the sure thing, the coin toss and most likely roughie games

The 2024 NRL season is tight, with plenty of players injured or in and out of form, as clubs look to make their runs through the Origin period, tipping a perfect round is nearly impossible, so each week we'll give you some extra help with three standout games.

The sure thing

Cronulla Sutherland Sharks vs. Dolphins, PointsBet Stadium, Thursday June 13, 7:50pm (AEST)

This Top 4 clash should be a great game, with the Sharks proving last week against the Broncos that they can match it with the top teams. Back to near full strength and in front of their adoring home crowd, the Sharks will be very keen to to stay in the race for the minor premiership.

The Dolphins really should have done more at home against the Raiders two weeks ago and although they received the rough end of a couple of decisions, they simply made too many errors. Wayne Bennett would have spent the bye week working on all the little things that have been letting the Dolphins down and they will come out firing against the Sharks.

With results being so hard to pick of late, this game represents the surest thing I can find during Round 15.

Round 15 sure thing: Sharks

The toss of the coin

New Zealand Warriors vs. Melbourne Storm, Go Media Stadium, Saturday June 15, 5:30pm (AEST)

The Warriors have returned to their winning ways, beating the Panthers, Dolphins and Cowboys in recent weeks. They have enjoyed the return of some key players and are back to being a very dangerous looking attacking side, with enough commitment in defence to frustrate the opposition. They run hard up the middle and unleash their creativity off the back of ruck dominance.

The Storm have been missing some key players and have been struggling a bit. They lost to the Sharks, before smashing the Eels, losing to Manly and finally beating the Knights last week. They are not at their devastating best at the moment and this is the perfect opportunity for the Warriors to take the points at home.

When these two teams met earlier in the year, the Storm managed a tight 30-26 victory. This game could go either way, but the Warriors have to win if they are to be taken seriously again.

Toss of the coin game winner: Warriors

The roughie

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs. Brisbane Broncos, Accor Stadium, Monday June 14, 8pm (AEST)

The Bunnies have won back-to-back games now thanks to a renewed enthusiasm and improved performances from their big stars. They are a long way from the Top 8, but you get the feeling they are on the road to regaining some pride in their jerseys.

The Broncos are struggling with some key injuries and were beaten at home last week by the Sharks. They will be looking to turn that performance around and continue their hunt for the minor premiership.

If everything falls into place, I can see the Rabbitohs continuing to improve and giving the Broncos a real shock.
