Arsenal and Netherlands forward Vivianne Miedema has broken the all-time scoring record for the Women's Super League, scoring 50 goals in 50 games.
Miedema, 24, equalled Nikita Parris' record of 49 goals with a brace against Brighton on Oct. 11 but added to that tally against Tottenham on Sunday to break the overall record.
She scored her first goal in the seventh minute, to give Arsenal 2-0 lead before completing a hat trick in the opening 45 minutes as the Gunners went into half-time with a 5-0 lead. That put her on 52 goals in 50 games. Arsenal went on to win 6-1.
"She's proven herself with the goals and her character. She is an absolute privilege to coach but also to know her as a person -- she's a phenomenal girl," Arsenal manager Joe Montemurro said after Miedema equalled Parris' record.
"I'm so proud to be part of her growth we're all proud of her as a family as we are at Arsenal. We always talk about her goals and her finishing but the amount of work she does off the ball, creating space knowing when to trigger the press is incredible. When people can come to see our games again I urge people to watch the work she does off the ball and that's the mark of a great player."

Miedema has netted 10 times so far this season, giving her more goals individually than eight of the entire clubs' tallies in the 12-team league.
She was also the top scorer in the Women's Super League during the 2019-20 season before it was curtailed and also won the award for the 2018-19 season.
Despite Arsenal losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals of the Champions League in August, she was the competition's top scorer with 10 goals.
Miedema is also her country's all-time top scorer, across both the men's and women's teams, with 60 goals.
She has scored seven goals in Arsenal's opening four games, with the side sitting top of the WSL and yet to drop points.
She has also had 17 shots on target so far this season which is over twice as many as any other player. Her closest competitors are Arsenal's Jill Roord and Manchester United's Ella Toone who have eight shots on target.
She was named the Football Writers Association's Footballer of the Year for 2019-20 and was shortlisted for the Women's PFA Players' Player of the Year.
