Coco Gauff discusses how her outfit at the 2025 Australian Open came to be. (1:43)

The Australian Open is underway for 2025 and Day 2 features 11 Aussies in action, hoping for a win in Melbourne.

Headlined by Nick Kyrgios -- who is under an injury cloud -- on John Cain Arena in the evening, there's plenty of action to keep up with. Follow the fortunes of all the Australians here.

Margaret Court Arena, day session (from 11:30am):

Ajla Tomljanovic (AUS) (WC) def. Ashlyn Krueger

6-4, 4-6, 6-4

Tomljanovic justified her wildcard selection, defeating American world No. 52 Ashlyn Krueger in three hard-fought sets on Margaret Court Arena.

Still on the comeback trail after missing most of 2023 and parts of 2024 through injury, the Aussie was a little shaky at times, blowing a 4-0 lead in the decider and serving eight double faults in the encounter, but she steadied late to advance to the second round.

"To come out [onto Margaret Court Arena] and play well, there's no better feeling," she said about returning to Melbourne.

"Having lost to her last week, it felt pretty sweet to play her again and [win]."

Tomljanovic will face No. 12 seed Diana Schnaider in the second round.

Jordan Thompson (AUS) (27) vs. Dominik Koepfer

John Cain Arena, twilight session (from 5:00pm)

Maya Joint (AUS) (WC) vs. Jessica Pegula (7)

A huge result for the wildcard, Gibson! Just 20 yeasrs of age, the Aussie has won her first Grand Slam main draw match, coming from a set down to win against Turkiye's Zeynep Sonmez. Gibson battled hard in a see-sawing second set before cruising through in the third with three breaks to her name.

She'll face the 11th seed Paula Badosa in the second round.
