League rescinds technical against Sky's Ndour

The WNBA rescinded a technical and subsequent ejection against Chicago center Astou Ndour that occurred Sunday during the Sky's regular-season finale at Washington.

"After a league review, we have determined that the technical foul against Chicago's Astou Ndour should not have been assessed," Bethany Donaphin, head of WNBA league operations, said in a statement Monday morning. "The technical foul and subsequent ejection have been rescinded."

Ndour was ejected with 3:02 remaining in the second quarter of the Sky's 100-86 loss to the Mystics. She appeared to be trying to show official Kevin Fahey a mark on her arm to signal she had been fouled. Fahey had his head turned, talking to Ndour's teammate Allie Quigley, and then walked into Ndour, whose hand touched his side.

Fahey's reaction and emphatic ejection drew ire on social media on the WNBA's final day of regular-season play.

Ndour posted later Sunday on Twitter: "I have always shown great respect for the referees, and my career supports me. I still don't understand very well what happened today and I don't agree, but I respect the decision. I will continue to work hard."

The Sky, the No. 5 seed, will host No. 8 Phoenix in a single-elimination first-round playoff game Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
