Florida Gulf Coast junior guard Kierstan Bell says she will enter WNBA draft

Florida Gulf Coast junior guard Kierstan Bell announced on her Facebook page Wednesday that she is going to enter the WNBA draft in April.

The school also confirmed the news.

The 6-foot-1 Bell is eligible for the draft as a junior because she turns 22 this calendar year. Bell was ranked as the No. 8 player in the class of 2019 by ESPN HoopGurlz and played her freshman season at Ohio State before transferring to FGCU.

She averaged 24.3 points and 10.6 rebounds last season and led the Eagles to a 26-3 overall record. They were 16-0 in the ASUN conference and won the league tournament. FGCU lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament to Michigan.

The Eagles are currently 16-1 and 5-0 and are ranked No. 24 in The Associated Press poll. Bell, who was named ESPN.com player of the week on Monday, is averaging 23.4 points, which ranks third in Division I, and 7.7 rebounds.

Bell was No. 15 on ESPN's ranking of the top 25 players in women's college basketball on Jan. 12.
