Mi'Cole Cayton breaks commitment to Nebraska

Mi'Cole Cayton, one of the stars who made St. Mary's (Stockton, California) one of the best high school teams in the country, has decided to reopen her recruitment after signing with Nebraska in November.

Cayton, a 5-foot-9 guard and the No. 80 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100, made the announcement Sunday night on Twitter.

"Due to coaching changes I have to do what's best for me and my family, which is to find the best basketball fit and education fit for me," Cayton wrote. "Therefore, I have decided to reopen my recruiting process again."

Nebraska has granted Cayton's release.

Connie Yori resigned April 5 as coach of the Huskers. Yori, the winningest coach in Nebraska's history with a 280-166 record, reportedly was under investigation by the university for mistreating her players. According to the Lincoln Journal Star, sophomores Natalie Romeo and Jasmine Cincore are in the process of possibly transferring out of Nebraska.

As a senior, Cayton helped lead St. Mary's to a 28-1 record and the No. 2 spot in the final espnW 25 Power Rankings.
