UConn gets verbal commitment from No. 41 prospect Caroline Ducharme

The UConn women's basketball team has the second-ranked recruiting class in 2020, and the Huskies are off to a strong start for the Class of 2021 as well.

UConn landed a verbal commitment Friday from No. 41 prospect Caroline Ducharme, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Milton, Massachusetts, making her the third top-50 prospect in next year's class to commit to the Huskies.

Fifth-ranked prospect Amari DeBerry, a 6-foot-5 forward, and No. 17-ranked Saylor Poffenbarger, a 6-foot-2 guard, have also committed.

Ducharme averaged 24.8 points, 14.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game with Noble and Greenough School this past season. She was named Gatorade Girls' Basketball Player of the Year in Massachusetts in 2020.

The Huskies might not be done, either. Paige Bueckers -- the top-ranked prospect in the Class of 2020, who signed with UConn -- has been vocal about getting her friend Azzi Fudd, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2021, to join her in Storrs.
